American denim and lifestyle brand Wrangler is expanding into new territory with the launch of a headwear line through a multi-year licensing agreement with CapX, a Headwear Innovation Lab.

The new headwear line will showcase Wrangler’s signature design codes including the brand’s recognizable ‘W’ stitching, copper hardware, and leather patches sourced from the same suppliers used in its denim.

Each Wrangler cap will also feature a unique model number printed inside the lining — a hallmark of CapX’s standardized fit system that references one of more than 45 proprietary shapes developed by the company. This system is designed to help consumers easily identify and repurchase their preferred fits across different brands and styles.

“Headwear is an essential part of the Wrangler consumer’s lifestyle,” said Steve Armus, vice president of licensing and collaborations at Wrangler. “We see tremendous opportunity in headwear to reach a broader audience in meaningful new ways, and CapX is the ideal partner to help us do that.”

The collaboration represents a strategic move for Wrangler as it continues its evolution beyond denim into a full-fledged lifestyle brand. In June, Wrangler also announced plans to step into footwear with a new multiyear licensing agreement with Genesco Inc.

“We’re excited and humbled to partner with the iconic Wrangler brand and represent its 78-year history. Wrangler is a true American lifestyle brand and headwear is an incredible opportunity to amplify its story,” added David Gormley, founder and president of CapX.
